Six of my amazing friends came with me to the airport and saying goodbye to them was the hardest goodbye I've ever said. I know I'll see them in not so long, but even still, not so long is still pretty far away. I'm not gonna lie, I did cry a bit.
Customs was fine, my terminal OFCOURSE was at the very end of the line, so I had to walk to length of the airport. I discovered, as I waited to board, that Alan and Poppy had both left me little notes in my pocket without me knowing so I was happily surprised and touched when I found them.
When I got on the plane I got to sit anywhere (past row 6) so I took a window seat. I took a nice picture when we were in the air of the sun rising. I dozed on and off- mostly off- for the plane ride, and when I got off at 10:30am, that's when the trouble started.
Well I went to the toilet and so missed the bus that was immediately taking people to the train station for 5euro. Uh oh. Then I remembererd I only had E10, and the train was 10. (I was supposed to get the bus to the station and the the train to Quillan- Pronounced key-on- and the find my way to the house.) I went to the bank machine outside but lo and behold, it doesnt take bank of ireland cards. So I was still stuck with only 10. Uh oh. And my battery was low. Uh oh. And I was running low on credit. Uh oh. And my parents were texting me asking was I okay and everything. Heavy sigh. Eventually- 2 hours of much tiredness and confusion later- the bus came and I got it to the station. The station was the Carcassonne Train Station, about 15 minute drive from airport. Then I went to get the bus around the corner. I ask the bus driver how much it was to Quillan and he said E9.10. Uh oh. I didnt have enough. I text Annie and she says I can either wait for another bus but get it to a place pronounced Lemoo (cant remember spelling) and her friend Diane can pick me up there, or if I dont have enough for the bus then she can come collect me from the station. Quillan is about an hours drive from the station. The time is 1.30pm. So I sit and wait for the bus. The bus is supposed to come at 4.10. I sit on a bench for awhile and start to read Jurassic Park, but I'm so tired that I keep dozing on my bag.
This group of teenagers walk past me a few times. They only looked about 15. I didnt care, I was tired and they didnt know me. At one point the go sit in a car for awhile and when I looked up across the way at the car, there's smoke coming out from the windows and lots of laughing. I laughed to myself a little and thought of how similar it was to what people were doing back home.
After much waiting, it's time for the bus, but there was one problem. The bus wasn't there. I realised then that it was Sunday and there probably wasnt going to be a bus at all. So I text Annie and she says its okay, Diane would pick me up between 5-6. That was okay. So I leave the bench and go sit down by the river.
Carcassonne is a really pretty town. There was a river going through it with grassy hillls on either side and lots of pretty peach buildings. It wasn't very busy but it was very pretty. I really wanted to walk around it, and I was also starving. But my bags were heavy and I was exhausted so I just waiting. Around 5, I went and sat outside the station. Soon, this woman comes over and asks if I'm Sally. Oh man was I relieved. Diane had arrived.
We get the Quillan and it's absolutely beautiful. The drive there is inbetween the Pyrenees mountains and the town in small but very pretty. The house is covered in vines and quite large. It's at night too. Then I'm on my own. I wander around the house for abit, looking for food and just poking around. It has 4 floors, though it's hard to find the light switches so I dont walk around that much and mostly stay upstairs on the second floor. The only appetising food I find are some frozen jambons so I cook them. I call Mark. We talked for about 20 mins about my adventure here. We said goodnight and I cried a little and then went to bed. Slept until about 1pm, woke up, explored the part of the house I didnt want to look at in the dark and discovered the computer. Then I did some stuff around the house, explored some more, etc. It's now about 7.15pm (6.15 Irish time). It took about 2-3 hours to figure out how to turn the water on. Now I must cook some pasta, have a shower and then I dont know.
Tomorrow I explore Quillan and all its beauty.
I cant wait for Christmas so I can see everyone again, It's really weird not having anyone to talk to here, I've been silent for hours!

I remember a song he used to sing, but I can't probably spell it properly.
It went something like this..
Stolat stolat, Je zse et zse et nam.. as you will know I can't speak polish but it was something about a hundred years. I remember the phonetic words in English as a kid
